What these materials are — and are not
Everything published here is an educational and organisational resource. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for a lawyer, and using it does not create an attorney–client relationship with anyone.
No outcome is promised. A well-written records request can still be refused, delayed or answered with "no responsive record." These materials are built to make a request harder to ignore, not to guarantee a result.
Public-records law is state law and it changes. Check the current statute and the body's own published rules before relying on anything time-sensitive.
Licence
A purchased download is licensed to one person for their own use, including their own matters and requests made on behalf of the organisation they work for.
- You may open, print, edit and adapt the files for your own use.
- You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, publish or share the files — in whole or in substantial part — whether or not you charge for it.
- You may not use the files to build a competing product, or feed them into a service that redistributes their content.
- Team, office and organisation-wide licences exist. Ask rather than assume — that is a different licence, not a refusal.
Payment and refunds
Checkout is not open yet. The terms in this section apply from the moment it is.
Prices are in US dollars. Payment is taken by a third-party payment processor; this site does not receive or store your card details.
If a file is missing, will not open, or is materially not what the product page described, tell me and you get a working file or your money back — your choice. Beyond that, digital downloads are final once downloaded, because they cannot be returned.
Nothing here removes rights you have by law. Where a statutory right to cancel applies to you, it applies regardless of this section, and the checkout will handle any waiver required for immediate delivery.
Accuracy and corrections
Reference pages state the date their facts were verified, the date they are due for review, and the sources they came from. That is a commitment to show the basis, not a warranty that every fact is current at the moment you read it.
If you find an error, write in. Corrections are made at the source, the verification date is reset, and corrected products are reissued to people who bought them.
Links to other sites
This site links to government and organisation websites so you can check the source yourself. Those sites are not under my control, and linking to one is not an endorsement or a claim of any relationship with it.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, liability arising from your use of this site or its materials is limited to the amount you paid for the item the claim relates to. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and governing law
These terms may change. The version in force is the one published here, with the date at the top of this page.
